Maverik's humble beginnings can be traced back to the city of Boston where he was born, and raised by two hard-working Jamaican parents. He was a bright kid who grew into an eloquent adolescent with a great deal of artistic ability. In high school he was an honor-roll student and star athlete in three sports. Music was a huge part of his life and it became his passion as he matured. He was always listening to the radio and making mix-tapes. Over time he developed an uncanny "ear" for good music. His way of expressing himself came in the form of poetry, songs, and artwork. He was a perennial fan-favorite at his high school's talent shows. A well-rounded young man, he found yet another talent as an actor starring in the production of Fame in his senior year. In 2000 he was a top college prospect, earning a Jackie Robinson Scholarship and a National Student/Athlete Award.
He went on to major in Communications at Boston College where he grew as a person and found his voice. He sang/song-wrote with the Voices of Imani Choir and was the lead vocalist/MC/Bass Guitar player for the band Versatyle. He would continue to explore acting in a collegiate environment, (this time making history) playing a series of roles in the first ever black written theatrical production at Boston College, entitled, Degrees in Black. This sold-out event earned national acclaim and solidified his legitimacy as an actor. He spent the summer of his sophomore year as an intern for 4Korners Newspaper in Brooklyn, New York, The only Hip-Hop Newspaper in America. He proved to be a tremendous asset to 4Korners, and several pieces of his work were published as articles in the newspaper. During his college career, Maverik was also a member of BC's Step Team, Sexual Chocolate, an elite group of steppers that set the precedent for all Boston area step squads.
Maverik arrived on the professional radio scene as a junior at Boston College, making his mark as an intern for the Ramiro & Pebbles Morning Show on JAMN 94.5. His innovative ideas were often incorporated into the show and the parodies he wrote and performed garnered significant airplay, catapulting the Morning Show to number 1, in Boston. He was soon hired as a production assistant at WJMN where his world class voice-over work piqued the interest of JAMN 94.5s Program Director. He was then presented with the opportunity to parlay his skills to the midday On-Air Shift for WJMN. Upon graduation from college, he took full advantage of the opportunity and quickly emerged as a star DJ on JAMN 94.5. An electrifying presence on the air, he immediately became a listener favorite, with his radio show achieving number 1 ratings January 2005-June 2006. Because of his unique sound and high-energy style, in June of 2006 he was chosen as JAMN's Night Jock, setting the city on fire from 7-midnight. He achieved an even greater level of success in that timeslot, becoming one of Boston's most popular on-air personalities, broadening his audience and consistently dominating in the ratings.
At the age of 25 he has already made an impact on the Boston music scene, now he is focused on taking his talent national. Maverik represents the future of Hip-Hop and his voice speaks for young Black America. His energy and passion for music are paralleled only by his talent and creativity. Known as the show-stopper, Maverik has earned the reputation of a gifted lyricist/songwriter and performer whose music comes from the soul. As a DJ/MC he is able to entertain, inspire, educate, and empower. His dynamic delivery, extensive vocabulary and innate way with words allow him to entertain effortlessly.

His engaging personality, pleasant on-air demeanor, sharp sense of humor, charm and charisma has made him a marquee name in Boston Radio.
