If you're working by day and looking to play by night, head downtown to 49 Grove. The name is as prominent as it is fitting. Once past the bouncer, head downstairs and lose yourself in music and dance while the world above walks on by. Frequent visitors may notice that the owners are constantly reinventing the place. This time with emphasis on detail ranging from design to service.

The DJ keeps the place jumpin, and the dance floor is always in motion. Dancing not your forte? Kick back, grab a seat on the couch and order a round of drinks for you and your crowd. You'll find the service to be a cut above any other place in the area.

The lounge area creates the ideal social scene. You and your friends are bound to enjoy yourselves, and it's more than likely that you'll make new friends before you leave. Having been to 49 Grove on numerous occasions, it's fair to say the atmosphere is very friendly. After my first 49 Grove experience I was invited back by one of the club's promoters for her birthday party.

I arrived for her party and was surprised to see that she was waiting outside, greeting each of her guests as they walked up. My group was led down the stairs and taken into a private neck of the lounge, closed off for the promoter's birthday party. The party had already begun once we joined the fun. A bottle of Grey Goose was placed on each table, along with four different carafes: one full with orange juice, another with cranberry juice, etc. We were told to feel free to make our own drinks, and after helping myself to a drink or two, I hit the dance floor.

The bar runs alongside one wall of the dance floor, opposite a two plasma TV screens (playing "Happy Feet" for this occasion). I put in a request with the DJ: "Pop, lock and drop it," one of my favorites. We had an amazing time letting loose under the low ceilings, and watching ourselves in the mirrored walls. The party carried on for the majority of the night, but my group and I were exhausted by the three and bid everybody farewell.

If you're looking for a fun night out, you cannot go wrong with 49 Grove. Nice crowd, lovely décor, and a good mix of music. Check the drama at the door and be ready for a good time!
