Hey y'all. I just wanted to let you all know about my experience at the Daft Punk Show @ Coney Island's Keyspan Park. This was without a doubt the best concert I have been to this summer, if not all the years I have lived in New York! The light show was just sick. If you went there you know what I mean. Daft Punk was dressed in robot costumes and was on a pyramid type stage which was reminescint for me of the days when I danced at Ra in the Luxor. They played all the best songs in a really great mix and I was dancing up a storm like all over the stadium. In the background on the left side of the stage, you could see the Parachute drop lit up in red lights. It looked so cool and the concert itself was so fun because if you are in the know, you know that Coney Island, my favorite spot in all of New York is going ot get to remodeled. It is kind of exciting because it is a bit of a dive, but that is what I love about it. Me being from L.A., it is a tourist spot without all the glitz and glamor or crowded amounts of people of say Times Square. Plus it is without all the attitude of Manhattan, which sometimes just drives me insane without the amounts of excess and rudeness that I always am dealing with in the city. There is so much I would change about New York, if I could. I have been to Miami, which yes is a lot hoity toity, but everyone there is so beautiful that it makes perfect sense. Here in New York, I find that people just think they are so badass and really have nothing of life experience to back it up. Do I sound like a hater, maybe...but I like to think of it as less superficial and more real than many people in this town...I defintly fall into the superficial and shallow category myself, being that I attend clubs liek a religion and have traveled to every major city in the US clubbing and living my life, but I feel like I have a lot of experience to back up what I say. I love the feeling of Vegas where people are friendly cause they are on vacation. I have lived here in New York for three years and it is really so hard to meet people that are cool and fun to hang around and really don't expect too much from you in way of being users. I often have written people on going.com to find people to kick it with at the clubs, but alas no one ever writes me back. Even on this site...it is impossible to find people to hang with and that really makes me sad, but hey paranoia is a big trait that I associate with people in this city. So anyways I am done venting. If you are down, feel free to say hi if you check out these clubs this weekend. I will be at Sullivan Room tonight to see Lee Cabrera, South Street Seaport - Spiegel Tent and Guesthouse tommorrow evening / night and possibly Pacha this Friday. On Saturday I will be back to Sullivan Room to see and dance to D:Fuse as well as maybe hopping on down to Pacha for Johnathan Peters party. And Sunday it is back to SR again for a fabulous bash. So if you can hang, hit me up. Otherwise see you on the dancefloor kiddies!!
Much Luv from the Misses Infamous!!
